It all started last November with a FaceTime, a glass of wine, and pajamas.

Starlyn, expecting another dud on the apps, took a bold first step and challenged Chris to show his face within minutes of chatting on Hinge. Chris, only 48 hours new to any dating app, figured this was normal but would soon discover he was meeting the most amazing woman he'd ever met.

Thanksgiving came, and they spent it apart, miles away with their families. But they kept their connection alive with long-distance phone calls, each sharing stories about childhood memories and family traditions.

In December, Starlyn introduced Chris to his first spin class. Chris grumbled, sweated, and swore he was dying at least twice, but Starlyn’s proud smile at the end made it worth every sore muscle.

Spring found them on hikes in the mountains of Franklin, North Carolina. The air was crisp, the trails quiet, and the views breathtaking. Conversations already included future homes, a family and a destination wedding.
